ASME B16.11 forged tee is a three-way fitting used to make perpendicular connections to the pipe. The three outlets of the forged tee may be furnished with either socket welding (SW) end or threaded (THD) end. The forged tees can be further classified as straight type (all three outlets are the same pipe size) or reducing type (branch outlet is a smaller pipe size). ASME B16.11 SW tees are available in pressure rating Class 3000, 6000, and 9000; ASME B16.11 THD tees are available in pressure rating Class 2000, 3000, and 6000.
